First, I would like to say thank you for switching from whatever social media site you came from to see what my blog is about. Secondly, I have a story to tell you. About two years ago, I was talking to a friend at a coffee shop about her life, and at the time, she was going through some heavy stuff, and some of the things were not and are not things I have experienced. She needed a friend to listen so that is what I did, and when the conversation started to shift towards me giving advice, all I could do was say what I knew. God loves her and she is not alone (Psalm 46), if she would continue to seek God, the problem would be resolved (Matthew 6:33), and I would be there for her. After some tears had fallen and we had laughed a little, there was this awkward silence where we both just sat and drank our now room temperature coffee. As I thought of a new topic, she piped up and said, “You should write a blog, or have a vlog on YouTube” and then she waited for me to answer, she didn’t know she would be waiting five minutes for a one-word response. “Nah” … As you can see from the name of this website, it took me two years to see what she was saying. So here it goes, Blog post number one.

Don’t let anyone make fun of you, just because you are young. Set an example for other followers by what you say and do, as well as by your love, faith, and purity.        – 1 Timothy 4:12

“Greetings” – James 1:1

I am 24 years old living in Texas. I love gardening, reading, talking to people, traveling, and gloating about the fact that I’m from Texas. I am quick witted, a little sarcastic, and ready to learn. Even though I grew up in church, the Word didn’t drop from my head to my heart until I was around 21.  The home I grew up in encouraged me to ask questions, seek out answers for myself, and try to see the world from other people’s point of view. As a result, I try to turn my failures into learning opportunities and with this blog, I hope to share what I’ve learned with you. I do not pretend to know everything, and I will not pretend my life lessons apply to everyone, but the Word of God is universal and true. As my life is changed by the Word, my prayer is through this blog, the Word will begin to change you.

So with that said, all that is left is to personally invite you to come with me on this journey, and to hope you get value and entertainment out of it.

I am 24, I love Jesus, I like pizza, and I'm ready to see whats beyond the river bend.
